30 years ago I remember watching Lady Di and P. Charles get married in my parents apartment in NYC. Fast forward 30 years and this morning, at the crack of dawn, I went to my friend Amy's house with my other friend Camilla to watch Prince William and Kate get hitched. We planned out all our foods (what we were bringing), woke up at the crack of dawn (3:00am) and off we went maybe a mile down the road to Amy's house for a Royal Wedding Watching party! WAS IT EVER FUN! We tuned into the BBC - no talking heads on that channel and watched the event which DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
Here are just a few pictures from the morning. Right now it's nearly 10:30am and I'm exhausted. I hope to catch a second wind to tune in tonight to hear all the gory details of the event.
Oh I didn't cry during this wedding - but I did ooh and aaah when I saw Kate in her beautiful gown! Oh how I live for HAPPY ENDINGS!
Here are a few pictures from the viewing party! Oh and Amy figured out my self timer so we could all be in the photos! Click on the photo to blow up the photo if you like.

for the Royal Wedding Extravaganza a week from tomorrow! My friends and I may not be 1 of the 600,000 tourists going to London to watch all the pomp and glitter - but we'll be in South Orange, NJ eating and drinking and partying the morning away! WOOT WOOT!
I wonder if my boss will make me do work when I get home?! Our hostess has to go to work that morning so we'll be home at 8:00am after it's all said and done.
OK I'll for sure be snapping photos all morning of us rooting on the Royal Couple to MARRIAGE BLISS - hey, this year will be my 25th Anniversary! I think I know a thing or 2 about love and marriage :) !

HAPPY ENDINGS! Yes I do. In honor of happy endings, 2 of my friends and ME are waking up at the crack of dawn (really BEFORE the crack of dawn 3:45am) to watch the ROYAL WEDDING together on April 29th. Coverage starts at 4:00am in case you didn't know. The first Royal Wedding that I remember ended crappy. REALLY CRAPPY. In fact I'd like to tell you that I think Prince Charles is a real douche! YESSIRR!
We have our menu all planned and I am baking these Sugar buns as well as mini quiches. As for the rest of the menu, I think we're having scones, fresh strawberries and lox and cream cheese on toast.
I must run to the store to pick up our Tiara's and other bling - and I might even buy a nightgown for the occasion.
I will keep you apprised of all the details.
I just hope Kate and William will have a long and happy life together! I might hiss and boo when I see Prince Charles and Camilla walk in the church - we'll see.

As they say! I was reading over some older posts here on my blog. I think it was back in 2009 after I reached my goal of going to the gym 182+ times, I wrote that I wanted to make another quilt for our bed. Well it is now 2011 but to be honest, the quilt was finished in 2010 -I was just waiting to find someone to quilt it for me! You see there are 2 main stages of a quilt. The piecing of the top of the quilt and then the actual quilting which means making the 3 layers stay together, the top piece, the batting, and the bottom piece. I have quilted many big quilts in my time and that is not my forte. I went online and researched and found a woman who has a LONG ARM sewing machine that completed my quilt!
On Friday my favorite UPS driver brought me a big box which contained my new quilt! YIPPEE!
Here is how it turned out. Now I'm already dreaming of my next project.
Happy Sunday - tomorrow I have jury duty which I am NOT looking forward to.

Last night my friend wrote up the NICEST recommendation for Gary and myself. I know it took time to put the letter together so I wanted to do something nice to say Thank-You! I've been in a SPRING TIME MOOD lately - even though the weather in NEW JERSEY is far from spring - I decided to bake a carrot cake. Didn't it turn out great?!!! I was able to have a little taste as I had to shave off the tops of the layers so they would lay flat to hold the cream cheese frosting.
All righty then - hope everything is going well in your stores and that are selling out our wonderful ties!
