LITTLE MISS MUFFET

sat on her tuffet eating her curds and whey. Look what's keeping me and my family company these days? And this little spider caught her first meal - a moth which is stuck in the web waiting to be eaten.

Remember back in the beginning of the summer when we had that icky BAT flying in our house? Well in our town paper they wrote an article about how there has been more bats in people's homes this summer! I also just read in my latest Martha Stewart magazine about the bat problem and how to capture them inside your home and set them free. THAT WAS NOT FOR ME! No sir-eee!

OK time to do the ties!

Slowly but surely I'm baking everything

from my best cooking class ever! Today I baked the White Bread! TA-DA! Didn't it come out looking great? It tastes even better. Next time, I might try changing a cup of white flour to whole wheat flour. That would be a healthy exchange for sure!

The weather is changing here slowly - feeling a bit more Fall like. That means you all need new ties in your stores since men are dressing up with the cool weather. CALL ME! I WILL SHIP YOU TIES! Email me, I WILL SHIP YOU TIES!

Enough said!

LOOK WHAT I BAKED!

So as you know, I went to that baking class last weekend which I LOVED! But -- you knew there would be a but -- I really don't like sharing the cooking in those classes. That's my 1 pet peeve. I want to do all the mixing, measuring, baking and whatever else goes along with the process. But I do LOVE the cleaners the classes supply because honestly who loves the cleaning up the mess? So back to the baking I did yesterday. I baked STICKY BUNS! I swapped out the apples in the classroom recipe for raisins. OH YUM! Look how great they came out? I had a salad for lunch and I chased that with a sticky bun. YUUUUUUUUM!

OK now, it's mid September. Are you running low on ties? Call me, email me, MAKE AN ORDER and I will ship it the same day!

Best,

Jane M.

I went to a cooking class

yesterday and did I have FUN! The class was called BAKESHOP BASICS! And did we ever bake! What fun. 4 of us in this big fancy cooking studio baked the following:

1. Sticky Buns - that were probably the best buns I've ever tasted. Not too goopy, or watery or sticky for that matter - just pure bliss

2. White Bread - yup wonderful crusty white sandwich bread! A little schmear of jelly - yummmy!

3. Chocolate Espresso Cookies - wow were they decadant!

4. Almond pound Cake - PURE HEAVEN!

5. Cheddar Jalepeno Corn Muffins - savory and quite nice

6. Candied Orange Scones - ate 1 for breakfast Oh lordy

Russell saw the giant cake box of all the treats I brought home and told me that I have to take a class once a month - the stuff tasted that great!

On that note, I've gotta run down and get me a snack!

YUM!

Best,

Jane M --> Did I make your mouth water????

B is for BLOGGING

Who the heck invented BLOGGING? Whoever did am I ever grateful. I think though I might soon need a 12 step program to get me away from all the reading that I do. I'm all consumed at times.

SO - I've been fairly uncreative in my blogging photos, so today I am showing you my cookbook collection. After seeing Alexis Stewart's collection, my pales in comparison. With all the food blogs out there in the land of the internets, I guess I really don't need that many cookbooks any more. I just like them -- OK?!!!! Maybe next post I'll show you the inside of my oven! NO WAY! It's not great!

We've had a lot of rain in NJ recently which has really greened up all the lawns in my neighborhood including mine. YIPPEE! My favorite color is green - don't you know.

Saturday is our 22nd wedding anniversary. In honor of this auspicious occassion, Gary and I will be passing the time in NYC waiting for Russell to take his ACT's at NYU. We'll be up at the crack of dawn driving into Manhattan for his 8:00am start. He finishes between 12:30 and 1:00. This is Russ's last chance to do well before he starts to apply to college. I still can't get over my Russell is old enough to be applying to college. WHERE DID THE TIME GO???????????

On that note it's time to get back to picking tie orders. TIES TIES TIES ! Please order our ties! They are gorgeous. Call our salesmen, call me, call Gary, or go online and make an order if you don't feel like talking!

Bye for now!

Jane M. PS While uploading my photos from my camera, I found pix of my 2 foot long pasta from Trader Joes. Have you ever seen that length of pasta before? It was very tasty.

Back to work Tuesday

Labor Day is O-V-E-R. HELLO OUT THERE -- IT'S TIME TO GET BACK TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!! Well I did not take off at all this summer. We've been working HARD HARD HARD! Did you get your first order of ties yet? NO...come on now, see our salesmen, call me, look and buy online. It's time to go back to work all dressed up!

This weekend I basically lounged around. No Emily to go to the town pool with, so I stayed close to home. I cooked - so what else is new - I gardened and I watched CNN until my eyes burned!

This morning it's time to ship the September orders and get things going.

I tried out my new tripod my Dad gave me. I'm stuck on the digital macro feature on my camera. Aren't these marigolds pretty? I didn't' take food pictures this weekend besides the lobster feast, so you will just have to put up with my flowers for now.

Take care and GET BACK TO WORK OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Best,

Jane M!
